We have puppies!
Puppies photogallery is HERE

Siru and Cecil's puppies were born at dusk on Dec 12th 2009 and therefore ready to move to their new homes on the first week of February.
We got three boys and three girls. All of them are red-white and have very beautiful markings.
Siru is a homebred and born whose character is almost perfect, so to speak. She is not running into things. Instead, she handles situation after situation with patience and exceptionally. Among children she is almost too tolerant and towards every man she is friendly curious. As a mother she takes care of her puppies very responsibly and with confidence and harmony.
The best part of her appearance is definetly her beautiful head with small ears and lots of wrinkles. I wonder if it was these things that dazzled our specialty show judge who chose Siru to be the best in show in 2007.
Siru had her first litter under Hanishan prefix (Q-litter) in autumn last year. This litter exceeded my expectations in many ways. Out of this litter I kept at home Tupla (Hanishan Quiet Zone) who e.g. was BIS-puppy both in Basenji specialty show as well as in Finnish Sight Hound Specialty in summer 2009. His sister Muru (Hanishan Que Sera Sera) was the BOS-puppy in the same Basenji specialty and also gained some BOB-puppy wins during the summer.
Daddy-Cecil I met for the first time in World Winner show in Sweden in 2008. After the trip I hyped to my breeder colleagues that I may have found the-most-beautiful basenji male ever. Even his behaviour was truly admirable. A cool man who with dignity sniffed my hand and let strangers approach almost majestically.
At home I studied his pedigree and found it pleasant in many ways. Cecil's father is an import from the United States and his dam has lines connected to familiar dogs even in Finland.
I kept Cecil in mind but I was not sure to whom use him for breeding before I had the second chance to use Siru. I took heart and after a huge amount of arrangements we have the puppies now.
This litter is the ”celebration litter”; ten years ago the very first Hanishan litter was born. We'll see if we can fit this celebration theme in the puppies' names :-).
